Already an incredibly stable shoe, the new Inspire has been made even more secure by having widened the forefoot area to make the medial side (inside) of the shoe less straight and more stable. Extra rubber has been added in the soles to provide a softer landing and the midsole and outsole now extend further back into the arch area to stay in contact with the ground for longer.

Despite the added stability our lab tests showed the new Inspire to be one of the most flexible shoes in our Spring Shoe Guide 2009. Our testers commented on the lightweight feel and high responsiveness for a shoe in this category. Our wear-testers say:
