Mizuno Wave Inspire 5 (W)
The women's Inspire 5 has deeper flexgrooves in the sole for greater flexibility and a more segmented heel to slow pronation speed (which is higher in women). A studded rubber outsole gives the shoe a softer ride. The Wave plate in the midsole is made using Pebax Rnew, a new compound made using renewable castor oil.
Our lab tests show that Mizuno's gender-specific features are effective and this was borne out by wear-testers' comments: they appreciated the flexibility of the shoe, especially given its supportive feel, and were also impressed with its lightness.
