Mizuno Wave Inspire 7
This radical revamp is fast and breathable, but it's best suited to narrow feet.

What's new? A new shaped last for a snugger feel and more overlays at the rear for a more secure heel fit. We say This is a substantially revamped update from the previous version. Whether it's a success is difficult to say. It's flexible and fast, belying the amount of corrective support ...  Continue reading

I ordered a pair of Wave Inspire 6s and these were delivered by mistake. I should have returned them but decided to try them out. Mizuno have completely discontinued the fantastic Wave Inspire 6s and created wh Continue reading...

My all-time favourite running shoe is the Inspire 6, yet I cannot wear the 7. It is a much changed shoe and is not at all like its predecessor. I went to buy Nirvana 7s but was talked into the Inspire 7s by t Continue reading...

Love the Inspire 6 - it's perfect, but I cannot wear the 7.  The 7's heel collar is so high it's halfway over my ankle bone, causing irritation.  Also, the lacing extends further up the foot, making the shoe feel more like a hiking bootie than a running shoe.  The fit is very different from the 6, so I'd strongly recommend you try it on before laying down your money.

Agree 100%. I'm a novice/new runner; bought these based on the Inspire history.  Walking was uncomfortable at best and I'd hoped the shoe would break-in. Loved the support they provided during my test runs, but the end result was an extremely painful ankle ... After just 10 or 12 miles, I'd developed a bone bruise where the ankle meets the shoe because of the high and extremely rigid heel collar.  Fortunately I was able to return them ... but save yourself the hassle and get something else.  Based on comments, I wish I could find some Inspire 6's in my size.  But alas, 14's are hard to come by, so I will likely try the Adidas Supernova Sequence 3.
