Mizuno has chosen to make only minor changes to its top-end stability model. Like the first version, it's a super-stable shoe thanks to a composite Wave plate running through the midsole. This has rubber on the lateral side and plastic on the medial side - the rubber cushions as you land, while the firmer plastic slows pronation as the foot rolls inwards. The plastic Wave on the medial side of the shoe is also thicker for extra support. The change comes in the upper, which now has extra overlays that fan out in a finger-like pattern to add extra support around the heel.
