Unforgiving sole |
The double fan wave between mid- and outsole has been reinforced to provide extra support and cushioning, and a smoother ride. Mizuno has also boosted the shoe's green credentials by constructing the plate partly out of Bio Pebax, a sustainable plant-based oil. As with all other Mizuno autumn updates, a new upper and sockliner have been introduced.
This is at the stiffer end of the stability-shoe range. The midsole is still very firm, making it suitable for heavier runners but perhaps not for lighter runners looking for more responsiveness. Some of our testers liked the shoe's firm sole once they got used to it but others found it unforgiving. Our wear-testers say: "Comfortable, but would benefit from improved heel and midfoot cushioning." - Ian Roots
