Mizuno Wave Nirvana 8

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
Breathable mesh scored highly in the dry.

Not weather-wet shoes. Too stiff and hard in the forefoot for lighter runners.

This is Mizuno’s top-of-the-range stability shoe, and is designed to provide the perfect blend of high cushioning and strong support. On the support aim, it succeeds: it protects all but the heaviest overpronators while not feeling chunky or intrusive. The breathable mesh scored highly in the dry, but it gave up the fight against rain, so these are not wet-weather shoes. The cushioning level received a varied response, with lighter runners commenting that the ride was too stiff and hard in the forefoot – a view backed up by the lab tests.
