Imbalanced cushioning |
This new model is New Balance's top-of-the-range stability shoe, containing its new support structure, Stabilicore, a moulded thermoplastic designed to give more consistent support and greater smoothness through the gait cycle. A new decoupled heel and N-Ergy cushioning all along the midsole mean greater comfort and shock absorption.
It has an open, breathable upper and a snug fit, but some testers felt the collar was stiff and the forefoot was too snug. Others felt that the imbalance of greater cushioning in the heel led to the forefoot feeling too stiff. From a Shoe Lab perspective, the flexibility was impressive considering the hefty support offered by the shoe.
Our wear-testers say: "Perfect fit around the heel but too narrow around the forefoot." - Anna Townsend
