Not a great looking shoe but does the job well and at a good price

Available in wide fitting which was essential for me. Lots of cushioning.
Not the greatest looking shoe but I'm used to that with New Balance.
Will use these to replace my old New Balance M1260 shoes. Have been out a few times on 20k runs and so far no niggles or problems.

Can't get on with them

None really
shoes hard, unforgiving and less supportive than 2160s
I went for New Balance as they do a 12 ½ UK unlike all the other manufacturers that jump from 12 to 13. Have run in the Asics 2000 series for years but the 12 is a little snug and the 13 big – hence my purchase. Despite having a gait analysis done, on the road, I found the shoes hard, unforgiving and less supportive than 2160s - A couple of runs in them resulted in a great deal of lower leg pain and a phone call to the wife to pick me up. Sadly trainers now in the shoe rack to be replaced with a new pair of 2160’s

A solid shoe if you run on your toes

I bought the 860's as the 768 model was discontinued. I found them fine except for the heels which rapidly wore down in a very short period. My weight, running technique nor routes have varied much so I can only suggest a softer compound. I own several pairs of 768's and have used them for my marathon training with no excessive heel wear despite having clocked up several hundred miles.
No "Cons" just disappointed in the heel wear.

Bought these as an update to my two previous pairs of 760's. Had considered other's but the 860's fitted best.

Great fit for wider feet with the E sized shoe. Had considered other shoes but none i had tried felt better than these. Have taken less time to feel like they have worn in and were ready to race in after a few runs. Very comfortable and feel cushioned but solid and responsive.
Have not found anything that i don't like yet but if i was really pushed i would say that the laces on my 760's were better. The bumps in them helped the laces from becoming undone.
What first attracted me to New Balance shoes was the fact that they were made in this country and reduced the possibility of slave labour from eastern countries and the air miles involved, so more carbon friendly to. Of course as well as these reasons i have found that these shoes are excellently made and last very well. I would find it hard to cahange to another manufacurer.
