Support features on both the medial (inner) and lateral (outer) sides of the full length of the shoe, to ensure support whether running on forefoot or heel. Active membrane behind the forefoot lugs to promote forward motion. Newton claims this energy-return system doubles the lifespan of the trainers compared with standard foam-cushioned shoes.
Pronation when landing on the forefoot is less pronounced and more unpredictable than when heel-landing, which is why support features have been built in on both sides of the shoe.
