Nike Zoom Equalon 3 (M)
 |
Stable cradle around midfoot |
| |
 |
Soft forefoot |
The second version of the Equalon took the shoe right down the control spectrum but this update tweaks up stability again with a new midsole. Overlays on the upper have been softened but there's a cradle around the midfoot attached to the laces which adds to stability. The Equalon is now a greener shoe, made with less waste and using more eco-friendly materials.
The Equalon 3 is an interesting shoe, lighter than Nike's Structure Triax but somehow feeling more stable. Though it's well cushioned for such a supportive model, some of our testers found the forefoot a little too soft, making heel-to-toe transition awkward. Our wear-testers say:
"They're supportive on heel strike, but have a hard feel on impact, making them a bit 'slappy'. The upper seems a bit soft." - Rob Spedding
