Recommended for runners who need a shoe with a great blend of stability of cushioning and stability.

Our Review

Built on Saucony’s standard last, with its great heel and forefoot fit, this excellent update features a more substantial medial post for better stability. Our shoe testers found the Hurricane 8 to be softer than the 7 thanks to the added HRC cushioning foam in the heel and forefront. Thanks ...  Continue reading

So, anyone won any shoes yet ?

I didn't win last year and neither did I win a garmin or anything else.

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:25

hav't entered. going to try on the 13th, my lucky day.

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:30

I have run 30 marathons in hurricanes
GIVE EM TO ME

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:31

I've entered, but I never win anything.

Apart from the Trigon 2s, but that was 2 years ago now. So it's almost as if I never won them.

Come on Saucony - I sang your praises last time. You know I'll be a good salesman for you.

Hippo, must be hard predicting which marathons to enter to get the hurricanes ? Or are you just unlucky ?

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:34

cant see any names on the site:o(

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:53

That's because it only started today I think.

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:54

:o-- ooh!

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 18:57

I think saucony should sponsor Hippo and use her in their marketing.

I'd rather know what shoes got Hippo round 30 maras than what shoes Paula wears. No offence to either lady but Hippo has to be more "real world".

Let's face it; more folks will identify with Hippo personally and therefore buy the product than with an elite like Paula whos shoes you can't buy as they are custom jobs. You might think Paula is wonderful and identify with her because she is a world-beater but you can't buy the shoe only the brand.

"They don't think you are serious.

They don't think you have it in you.

They say you can't run that far.

They don't matter......."

See I could write the blurb!!! :)

Stump - brilliant stuff.

What do you reckon, Hippo? Free Sauconys for life!

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 19:20

Not won the trainers but I did win Paula Radcliffe Body Fat Monitor scale thingies a while back.

D'you think that was my chance?

I'd rather have the Sauconys!

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 19:24

You won Paula's body fat? I wondered what she did with it...

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 19:33

Yip, I've got hers - and mine too (dammit!!)

Posted: 03/04/2006 at 19:37

I'd like to enter but the question was just too difficult...

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 08:38

I like it Stump

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 08:40

You have to give Sean a chance to get his early morning long run in.....

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:20

Hey, Mr Saucony!

Can I just check - is the draw totally random, or will my entry be filtered out as I won a pair of those wonderful Grid Trigon 2s?

They were really wonderful shoes - got me round my first marathon.

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:24

Dammit - I'm not Yvonne Green.

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:25

but maybe it is just me?

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:25

Ah no it was me!!!
lucky Yvonne

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:27

So, who is Yvonne ? Last year we didn't find a single peep thru the forums who had won.

Yvonne, come on down !

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:55

It was me - entered these competitions before and never won anything - so a big surprise - is it next time the lottery!!

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:55

We did have plenty of people collect their winnings last time (and SVT can confirm we sent at least one pair out!) I know it's a lot to believe but perhaps there is life outside the RW forums....

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:58

you lie Mr Saucony
The real world is in here!

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 10:59

Yep, I can confirm that I won my shoes a couple of years ago. And received them.

They've sadly gone the way of all running shoes though - but they are my favourite gardening shoes.

Posted: 04/04/2006 at 11:06

OOooh, just checked out the current range. New Fastwitches!

I've always fancied a pair of those, as I loved the fit of the Trigons and they're based on the same last.
