A big thank you to the physio on mile 21.

Crippling cramp at 21 miles made me come to a standstill until a physio got me going again

! Cramp did hit on the way to the finish line but each time the crowd just shouted me on. I got to the finish, having experienced the physical and mental questions a marathon poses, knowing that I FINISHED. And went for a curry and pint soon after!

With only a six-week build-up, things didn't quite go to plan

Im a 10K runner who for various reasons only had six weeks to train for the marathon. I set off at three-hour pace - silly I know, but I felt I could do it.At 10K I felt great. At 20K I felt good and still strong, albeit starting to work a bit harder

A great first marathon, but I cannot walk now!

This was my first marathon and I had no idea what to expect. It was amazing. At the start I got caught in the loo queue so was in a cubicle when the klaxon went. I didn't see the numbered pens as I rushed to the start so ended up running in pen 6

London Marathon Highs & Lows!

Gels make the tum very delicate and a toilet stop needed!

All was going really well for a sub-4 hour target, until I needed to use some of my Lucozade Sport running gels, after then the stomach ache and tummy cramps set in, a very needed pit-stop to the toilet lost me vital time! 4.07 was my official time

My odyssey that ended with a medal!

For months the words 'London Marathon' have given me a shiver of fear and excitement. I have never attempted anything this tough in my life. Following the 16-week Runner's World training plan for a sub-5:00  run, I diligently worked my way up to 20

To PB or not to PB, that is the question.

Desperate for a sub-2:50, I had my strategy set...

. The leading ladies went past in the opposite direction and I gave the leaders and the British girls a cheer as they went past - no sign of Liz Yelling, she must have been off the pace. At around the 14 mile mark, I had a moment's cramp in my left foot

The was my sixth London Marathon - the first marathon for 15 years - the other five had gone really well, with my best time being 3hr 18mins. This one started off ok but by the fitth mile I had stomach cramps, why I don't know but I had to slow down

I was tripped from behind and stumbled - within minutes, my left ankle was the size of a large golf ball

This was my second London Marathon (fifth marathon in total). Having run my first London Marathon very badly last year - due to lots of niggly injuries throughout training and major cramp on race day at Mile 14 - I was determined to put it right

The knee injury I sustained pre-Christmas made an unwelcome return at the most inconvenient time but that didn't stop me from reaching the finishline

?!Everyone has a goal for the marathon. If you think you didn't achieve yours on Sunday, think again - less than 1% of the British population has ever started the London Marathon, let alone put the dedication into training and made the sacrifices that you did

Tripped up by another runner at Mile 20 I was reduced to a walk, but determined to run the last mile no matter how slow or painful

:19) as well as a few half-marathons. I tapered in the last three weeks to be fully fit.Everything was going great until after Mile 19. I had run all the way and was on for 3:30. I hadn't experienced any cramps, I was well-hydrated and well-fuelled but then I
