speed work advice
by hilly

be higher but the effect will be similar due to the shorter recovery period. You could also add a session of 200m or 400m off quite long recoveries - this teaches your body to adapt to and to run at a faster pace. This isn't really a "hard" session

Training plans
A question... by Domm

conversation, you can only just speak odd words etc. Then recover til you can hole a conversation and repeat! for 400m intervals I probably wouldn't be chatting - maybe the odd gasp, especially just towards the end.Once you've done one session you'll be able

Track Training
3000m and 1 mile events by Life's Too Short

in the winter (sometimes we do a 10 in rep and than minute reps after that). Also do a shorter reps session which is frequently focussed on distance (10 by 400m etc).  Good session for a 3000? Perhaps 12 reps of 75 seconds on; 45 seconds off.  What sorts

training in late summer, such as 8 x 200m, 1200m time trials, 8-12 x 400m off a minute etc.Surely the longer reps should be more beneficial? wow are those really your times?impressive! there are some key sessions which have been devised.check out

Tempo runs etc
:-) by Runner Bean!!!!

as you can run at greater intensities. If you have a stop watch that beeps at the end of the time selected then that will obviously help.I've always done it as part of a track session on club night so had somebody blowing a whistle. Also 16 x 400m

1 or 2 Mile Loop in Central London
by stanley donahoo

look forward to running in London. http://g.co/maps/4khjm The Outer Circle of Regent's Park is 2.75 miles, I sometimes use it for interval sessions as those tend to be around 5 - 6 miles in total and doing that much on a 400m track is soul
