am a general runner rather than a beginner as I have been running on and off for the last couple of years and done a couple of 10k races... I want to increase my distance pretty soon as there is a 10-miler I'm interested in at the end of the month
Started running again after a 10 year break! Just reaching end of the the Beginners progamme from here and running just over 5k according to app on my phone in 30 mins. So thought I would have a bash at the local Parkrun for a variety of reasons

for monitoring pace and progress. Yes. Beginners are generally ideal users of HRMs as they often find it harder to gauge effort appropriately.
As a general idea, what pace should i run at? I'll be stepping up to running for 2 miles rather than walk/run, what sort of time should a beginner be looking at? Im 23 and average size if that makes any difference. We can't be specific about pace
