100 Calorie's per mile?????? by sging1

All over this site it states 100 calories per mile burn off and was stated in one thread that a 15 mile run would be around 1500 calories burnt off. I have a Garmin 350 Roadrunner running watch and it shows more than this on every run, i.e. a recent

Long run done, 22.25 miles. 3 hours 15 minutes with 1085 ft elevation gain so how the hell is it fair that I have only burned off 1850 calories. For people who know about this stuff, I was wearing a heart rate monitor as I am told the data is more

I have a polar heart rate monitor that calculates how many calories I burn. I find in the gym that the machines say I burn about 3 times more than my heart rate monitor do. Even though I have entered my weight etc and it monitors my heart rate too

Garmin Calories Burnt Accuracy
Just upgraded my watch and there's a big discrepancy between the calories burnt over the same distance! by Lucy Boucher 2

calories burnt on it. I ran 9.5 miles today and it told me I'd only burnt off 514 cals, whereas on a 10 mile run with my old watch it was about 760. I'm 5"1 and 98lbs so I can imagine I don't use tons of energy but still 514 seems quite low? I like to have
