I have been using energy gels in the past during a marathon. The first gel after 15km, next at 25km and the last at 35km.If I would run slightly faster I would burn of more calories and my glycogen stores would run out sooner. Hence, I would have

as the "best" gel or is it all personal taste?So many questions.... They do make a difference, if I'm doing over 10 miles I tend to take one, they definatey give you a lift. I'd say that you don't need gels as such - jelly babies or energy drink can work too

I did the Milford 21 on Sunday and was knackered! It occurred to me that I propably could have done better if I had taken an energy gel or isotonic drink as I began to feel really tired around the 15 mile mark.How soon into a race should I take them
