At present I can't run due to injury, however I am able to use the gym.I have been working my heart at the same as if I am running or most of the time harder. So will I keep the same fitness?I assume I will loose running fitness/stamina.Also how

I am mainly a runner who just wants to improve fitness for other sports such as football, tennis, cricket etc.I normally run for about 45 minutes but will going for a 30 minute bike ride beforehand help improve my fitness. Thanks for any help

Does anyone know if there are standards / certifications when it comes to fitting running shoes.  Whenever I've been to a specialist shop it seems to be a bit hit and miss - run up and down, does it feel comfortable, thumb width between toes and tip
