What is the best recovery plan for a stress fracture in my foot? I was told 2 weeks before the Edinburgh Marathon that I had a stress fracture, but I ran the Marathon regardless, with no problems during it. I am taking six weeks off running

Toe fracture

and they've told me through an x-ray that i've got a hairline fracture in my toe, which is actually healing. However, i'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how i might get the toe to heal quicker. The fractures small but, i'm in quite alot of pain

doesn't want to run at all. I'm waiting for the results of an X ray to see if it's a stress fracture. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep a good level of fitness on the eliptical trainer in the local gym.Is this a safe way to keep fitness levels up
