How hard to push in training
10k training runs by Long Stride

I never know if I'm getting the most out of my training runs, should I be pushing myself to a breathing rate that is hard work to maintain, or at a reasonable relaxed level over a greater disatance I often find I don't push myself hard enough

I've heard it always good to train close to your race pace.So I normaly run hard at the club twice a week with some cycling in between then on the most weekends i'll do a race.but chatting tonight at the club some people reckon its better to train

marathon with hardly any training

I can't be the only person who has entered a marathon only to have their training disrupted by injury. If you recover in time to be able to run but the training is not there what do you do? Hide in your room and pretend the event never existed

blocks of hard/easy training

i,ve heard puala radcliffe talk about blocks of hard and easy training and thought this might be a good way to avoid overtraining injuries,has anyone tried training in blocks, of so many weeks hard then so many weeks easier. This is more than likely

bpm, when i train i try and keep it to about 165 bpm because if i try and get it any lower i might as well walk!! When i completed the last but one 10k my average heart rate was 190bpm with a max of 202bpm,The last 10k i did was so hard i nearly gave
