I got a heart rate monitor for christmas and thought I'd start by getting to know my HRM and also read the section on the runners world website.Having set up my HRM to my age and weight it produced three traing zones which are zone 1 - 50% to 65
. Since abandoning it, I've found that I'm slightly quicker.Perhaps I didn't do justice to the method by not hammering the hard days as much as I should have but I find that I am faster without it and have discovered that a HRM is a waste of time really

91ti says it can be used in the pool but warns not to push the buttons while under the water as this can allow water into the watch.What make is your HRM? maybe check out the makers web site. Usually they have electronic versions of the manuals
