Nutrician Plan for Marathon Training
by RaeG
Hi! Can anyone recommend a good plan / author / book on nutrition for marathon training? A good general running nutrition information source would help as well. Many thanks, Rae

New Forum Category?
by Dan77
for Health (and injury) already. Yeah, I did spot that. But thought a specific Nutrition category would be beneficial rather than mixing it up with injuries, or using the training/general forums. Good idea Would this category include debates about supplement

Nutrition advice
by Rachel McGrath 3
?Thanks, Rachel I've just read the book Nutrition for Marathon Running - which has plenty of general advice, not just specific for marathon running. Tends towards the science of nutrition rather than the recipe end of the continuum.Hope this helps and good luck

Sports nutrition books
by mitten
Can anyone recommend a good general sports nutrition book.My eating habit is 'when I'm hungry' and 'what I fancy'.I know I'm generally low on iron, but don't think I know much about food or eat properly for the training I do.Good reference guide

Talkback: No-Nonsense Nutrients
by Colette Conroy
://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/dairy-free-dairy-6-reason_b_558876.html The views in that article are a bit off the wall and as RW is a running mag, not a nutrition or science mag, their articles on nutrition generally follow established advice and don't mention anything that is off the mainstream

Can anyone recommend a good sports nutritionalist in the South West (or on line)
I'd like to find someone who can draw up specific eating plan / menus for me.
by muffin
for me, taking into account the number of calories I need in relation to the training I do, and my lifestyle generally, including wheat intolerance, etc.I did see a nutritionalist previously, but she seemed to have no idea about sports nutrition

Nutrition book
Advertised in previous RW mag
by Essex
but not sure re: general nutrition with sports element, or one with sport as main focus. Premier Fitness offer both (just looked it up). Diploma in Optimum Nutrition or Diploma in Sports Nutrition. Website says the two courses are largely similiar in content
