I am going to start training for a marathon soonish and have found quite a few programmes. Many seem to refer to "easy, steady or fast" runs.I know the mile pace I will be aiming for in the race, but how do easy, steady and fast compare with chosen

Ive been following a training plan on the birmingham marathon website for a few weeks now and most of the training sessions seam to be geared to increasing the amount of time that i am running for, however, im a bit confused as to what sort of pace

Tempo pace

I'm looking to build up to a 1.22.00 half marathon which is around 6.15m/m.  I wanted some advice on the pace I should be looking at for tempo and speed sessions.  I had a look on the smart coach section and it suggests 6.08 for tempo runs and 5

marathon pace or half marathon pace

I Will be taking part in a half marathon two weeks before London. Should I run this as a practice for my predicted 9 min marathon pace or try my usual 8.30 min mile. Any advice greatly appreciated. With only 2 weeks to recover I wouldn't recommend

Confused by pacing!
How fast should 'easy runs' be?! by Bex1

's time. I used a time from a training run for my 5k time (knocked a couple of minutes off to account for the race pace thing). The only thing is, the paces I've been given by the smartcoach seem to slow- I was supposed to do my 2mile run today at about 14

Hi allJust a quickie. I'm a newbie doing the FLM this year. I've been following the sub 4 hr training plan and all ok so far....In theory I need run 9 minute miles to break 4 hours.But, my long run pace (according to this site) is 10 min 30 per mile

pacing groups

At presantI am running 5 miles at 12 min miles.I would like to join a pacing group for a 1/2 marathon but worry the get you round pace will be to fast for that distance and would like runners world to provid a slower group.would any one like to see

How much quicker is your race pace compared to your training pace?I am doing 8 milers at 7.20 pace but hoping to do a half marathon at 7 min pace.I can do a 10 k in 40 mins but the half marathons finish me off. Just had a look at my running log

Quicker pace

Are there any training programs that can get me to running 6:30 to 7:00 miles. I currently run at a pace of 7:48 a mile and I am looking to get my pace down and I need some advice on how to do so. Thanks Alex, I can't help here, but you are missing
