What is rest? by Tunney

When books and magazines say get at least X days of rest a week, what do they mean? Do they mean don't run? Or do they mean complete rest? Sadly Tunney, it just means don't run, rather than "Go lie down in a darkened room with a bottle of champagne

My marathon schedule gives me one day of 'rest' a week. So I don't run that day. Simple enough.I schedule my rest day in to the weekend so that I can spend time with Mr LizzyB. But I might spend that day on the bike, walking up mountains

or very light running. I rest from cycling for 2 days before a race. (I commute 30 miles a day so it wears my legs out). I don't take any time off from swimming. Running, 2 days. I don't do any exercise on Sats and most races are on suns.for me, easing up
