! If you get to the stage where you can run for 30 mins in 8 weeks (one months time?)  then you will complete the 5kThe day itself will find the extra minutes for youAs  for a rest day  every  other day,  I presume that is what the schedule has for you

Rest Days are nothing but useless
Recovery run now in place for rest days! by Twixx

. Why do I always feel fresh on a rest day and tired the day after a rest day. Yesterday was Friday, my day of rest. I felt energetic and fresh, but as on my own made program is a rest day on Fridays, I took the day off from running. Now today, woke up

Is a rest day totally necessary?
Or can I run slowly on a supposed rest day? by Bright White Trainers

think it depends on the amount of distance and intensity you are doing. If I were running an easy paced 5 miles every day, I don't think I would bother with a rest day. But once I throw in a couple of sessions and a long run every week, and when I am

Rest Days
by diamonds2002

Is it ok to do weight training on rest days (mainly upper body and core) on rest days?  Or should I rest completely? Yes it's ok. I've always been led to believe that it's fine to cross-train in that way. It's pretty rare I have a full day off
