Xtreme Terrain 10k
by chinadon

Just for a change from the road running, I'm in. So any idea how hilly the tracks are? not too hilly, but more woodland tracks, some gravel tracks and a bit of sand. Oh and a festival feel of 400 other athletes competing in 7 other events. see you

Algarve Runs
run routes in the algarve by robejo

quick 1hr runs along the beach in the evenings.  Anyone any strong views on whether running on sand a good idea close to a marathon?  Opinion seems split as to whether it is good or bad for you.

Post run buzz
and other things that make you smile by mimaduck

Currently sat listening to Emeli Sande's album, grinning my little head off. Love my lunchtime run - went out in my macmillan vest with no 2nd layer for the first time - it was warm and lovely! Need to switch tights for 3/4 lengths...too hot

Northumberland Coast Marathon
by PR 1965

? Obviously I won't be going for a PB but running on sand sounds very tough. Looks like the scenery is stunning so I'm tempted to have a couple of days up there. Anyone done this race? Advice?

on every imaginable surface. Running on the wet sand is lovely, but the bits on shingle, including climbing two steep shingle banks, are really tough. What with hurdling groynes and picking you way around seaweedy pools, don't expect any kind of PB

King Of The Beach
The one true prize in Nice by Hollywood (busy on runsaturday.com)

free Every tri ponce should have the right kit on the day: Let's do a relay, you do the swim, and I'll muster up a really p1ss poor sand castle unless I can have one of these and a matching aqua-woody
