Just for a change from the road running, I'm in. So any idea how hilly the tracks are? not too hilly, but more woodland tracks, some gravel tracks and a bit of sand. Oh and a festival feel of 400 other athletes competing in 7 other events. see you
quick 1hr runs along the beach in the evenings. Anyone any strong views on whether running on sand a good idea close to a marathon? Opinion seems split as to whether it is good or bad for you.
Currently sat listening to Emeli Sande's album, grinning my little head off. Love my lunchtime run - went out in my macmillan vest with no 2nd layer for the first time - it was warm and lovely! Need to switch tights for 3/4 lengths...too hot

on every imaginable surface. Running on the wet sand is lovely, but the bits on shingle, including climbing two steep shingle banks, are really tough. What with hurdling groynes and picking you way around seaweedy pools, don't expect any kind of PB
free Every tri ponce should have the right kit on the day: Let's do a relay, you do the swim, and I'll muster up a really p1ss poor sand castle unless I can have one of these and a matching aqua-woody
?Many thanks in advance Running shoes or barefoot. I always take my normal runners on holiday and manage fine (do tend to get full of sand though!!) on the beach bare foot & make sure you do fartlek it is proper bo! Thanks for all the above advice
