Felt MTB on Slicks
by marts2smooth

wheels the biggest weight savings would come from ditching the disk brakes for V's; fitting lighter forks; getting a lightweight racing saddle; and using SPD pedals.but that's frankly not worth it as you then have to change the brakes back to be a decent

first time triathlon, MTB question
by Michael Fletcher 8

my first season of tri with MTB shoes as that was what I had,  don't think it made a lot of difference! The sights I have seen at Tri's make me think turn up in whatever you are comfortable in and enjoy it! Certainly an MTB with slick tyres and SPD

Trainers for Spinning
Help, not bought any non running shoes for years!! by Josie Jump.

reversible pedals too - SPD cleats one side and then the cages on the other ? SO if you got SPD pedals for your bike as well, they'd be compatible with your spin bike. I'll have a look when I go tomorrow,I've always been a bit worried about cycling

New road bike
has just arrived...and I'm very excited by AnnaSpanna

for space in bus lanes. here we go again. a pedal argument getting in and out of them is more down to how tight they are adjusted, if it's for a mainly commute then get some mtb shoes with spd pattern pedal/cleats. you can walk about in them

Clipless pedals. Is there a knack?
by PowerSauce

I'd stopped and then come and unclip me so I could get up!On my hybrid I have spd one side and flat the other which is quite a good compromise but you need to be careful what shoes you use - carbon bike shoes on flat plastic pedals doesn't work

Cycling
by MartinH

on last years models - look for something with light wheels (a must) an aluminium frame and 16 spd STI either Shimano or Campagnolo, but most important get it sized correctly. 220 mag is good, but the bikes in it are wildly expensive (around the £1000 mark
