,I use my Inov8 Talons for Cannock Chase as you know it's quite a mixture of surfaces and the mile I do on the tarmac road doesn't harm them too much and of course you need them a tighter fit to allow for all of the lateral movement that your feet
running on the flat, for example). However I can't see any reason why, if you were running reasonably flat XC courses, it wouldn't be possible to do comparably well on the road. Maybe it's just a matter of getting more used to the tarmac? Thanks Psi I
Park that is run some time in June (I think!). Assuming it is the same route, it is run half in the park and half down the streets that border it (Princes Avenue, Park Avenue). That means it is all on tarmaced surfaces - it doesn't go by the lakes

Wondered if anyone could tell me if this is going to be a road or trail shoes course? It's partly on tufty grass, partly on sandy/stony paths and partly on tarmac, so take your pick! Hasn't rained much here lately so shouldn't be too boggy
ones with a little Italian flag on the back are a little too subtle...(BR - what are you doing with my shoes on your feet?) SVT - Having got some Nike Jarrowe Waffles now I haven't wanted to use them on tarmac as it looks like they'll wear down v
look unsuited to more than minimal road running - am I wrong in that? I've tried a few shoes built for the purpose but they were all a bit too cushioned for me. Any advice appreciated. Tarmac wrecks fell shoes and most of the 'grippy' trail shoes
very tricky surfaces - they passed the test very well and were comfortable enough on the tarmac sections of this race. Trust me, they are a good, versatile shoe!
Has anyone done this one? What's it like? Firstly the good bits. It is a very well organised race and the facilities at the start and finish are excellent. The course is very pleasant, running through tarmaced country lanes. They accept entries
(even tarmac is better than concrete), but you *should* be able to do it without the problems you are having, so there would appear to be more to it than that.
