How long have you been using them Cake?  I kind of feel ok with them on, I just panic about getting my foot out in time, especially as the left one seems stiff and that's the one I need to put down when I stop.  The other thing I find a bit of a problem is that you can't move your foot on the pedal   It think I must have been a fidget foot person before as I find myself wriggling around inside my shoes a bit after a while.  And my toes and the front part of my foot seem to go a bit numb   My shoes aren't too tight or anything, I think it's just a case of getting used to being in them and having my foot in a different place than when I didn't have the clip ins.

I've not been cycling long really, but have finally got some clip in pedals and shoes for my bike.  I seem to have the hang now of clipping in and out - only fallen off twice so far because I didn't get them unclipped and one of those was because of a startled horse! The thing I'm wondering though is, is there a 'right way' to pedal in them?  Before I used to just push down on the pedals as I didn't have any cages or anything to hold my feet in place.  I gathered that with the clip in pedal/shoe combo you are kind of pulling as well as pushing so you get more power for your pedal, so to speak.  I think, though, that I am still just pushing on the pedal rather than pull/pushing and so am not noticing any difference now I've switched from my normal pedals.  Is there a certain technique that you should use?  Should you really pull up rather than push down?  Or do I have hold of totally the wrong end of the stick about using clip in a pedal/shoe combo? *whispers* And does any of the above even make sense to anyone else?!
