2 min walk then increase to a jog but I have looked at some other options. You could try some of these:http://ascgrizzlies.athleticsite.net/str-cond/Warm-ups/PRE-RUN%20WARM-UP.pdfhttp://zappoman.wordpress.com/2007/01/15/dynamic-warm-up-pre-running-exercises/http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1426470http://www.momentumsports.co.uk/TtDynamicStretches.asphttp://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/warm-up-exercises.htmlhttp://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/active-warm-ups.htm

Normally my warm up involves walking around the block which takes about 7 mins before I start running. I don't really know if this is sufficient warm up, but also it's quite boring and it does little to encourage me to even get out the door! What do you guys do? xx

Ralphy, I know I'm not a longtime runner or anything, but I usually well, don't warm up, I stretch before I go, but have never done a quick jog around the block. I think the key is to when you start to try and maintain the pace you are running, unless of course you are doing speed work and things. I also think it depends on your own personal training schedule, for example if you are running 20 miles 5 times per week. (very much doubt it) at a very fast pace. Is 7 mins really going to be good to warm up, or if you are only doing 1 mile 3 times per week or less, 7 mins would probably be too hard. x

Bad of me I am sure. But I don't.Out & run. 3 times a week, no warm up. 2 x 5k and 1 x 22k.I do try & stretch every night though. I say try, because life often gets in the way, so 5 out of 7 days is the norm.
