I thought having a lowish heart rate was healthy. I have just come out of hospital after having my appendix out and every time I had my observations done, it did seem to cause some concern with the nurse doing it. My normal HR is around 47
How do you work out your maximum heart rate? I think it's 210 - your age. There is the 225 minus your age but the following taken from http://brianmac.demon.co.uk/ is sopposed to be more acurate

Did my long run on Saturday. Long runs should be done at 60% of your heart rate, which in may case would be 130. Did mine at an average over 160, but didn't feel bad or extra tired or fainted. It was a perfect 11 miles run at slow pace.How realiable

I know everyone is different but I am trying to discover what I should expect my heart rate to be whilst running. At 36yrs, MHR of 59 mine appears to be in the range of 140-170. Is this reasonable? Running on treadmill / zero gradient at approx 10km
