marathons and 6 london marathons...but i am now a penguin !!
I took up road running in 2005 as a sort of career break from running desert trails (in Saudi Arabia) every weekend as a Hash House Harrier. Silly me! Biggest road-running thrill in each of the last six years has been running the (Durban - Pietermaritzburg) Comrades ultramarathon - the "ultimate human race". This year I added the (Cape Town) Two Oceans - "world's most beautiful marathon" to my CV.
to get back into training etc.I'm lucky that there is some lovely counrtyside close to where I live, and some good runs around the local reservoirs.I am another Penguin!!
for the atmosphere, I've competed 8 times I think. I've run three marathons - London in 2002 and 2005 and Munich in 2003. I did all the marathons the Penguin way - run and walk and really enjoyed all of them. OK
