I started running in the late summer of 2006 after signing up to run the New York marathon. I'd never done any running in my life so this was a massive challenge but the event turned into one

own. I did a Race for Life 5k in July and have now in October completed a 5 mile race. I then did a 10k on January 2008. My intention had been to do a half marathon by summer 2008. This is now happening

, except did my first 800m for the club at the last minute and surprised myself with a 2:35.9 - might train for a few of these next summer.Abingdon marathon is the next big goal and yet another attempt
