Timings for Childrens fun run

Has anyone out there had any experience of organising a kids fun run? Can't get my head around how to record timings without using chips. The finish line will be funnelled so runners should come through individually? Any suggestions

Help please!
time which is slower than this. I last went from pen 2 on blue start in 2002. Time over the line was about 60 secs, it was a bit congested for the first 2-3 miles then I could run as I wished. One of my clubmates broke 3hrs from pen 2 on blue

Does anyone out there know what sort of times the last wave of runners in the GSR get round in? There were people finishing after 3 hours but in their defence, they did wear fancy dress and carried a hefty bucket of coins .....well done Tommy
