I want to buy some off road shoes but am unsure as what to get. I currently run in Asics 1100 and previously NB 765 on the road. I dont do grat deal off road so dont want to spend a fortune. Do I need support for over pronate or is this not needed

Neck/Shoulder pain

I'm not sure why it happens, and no matter how much i stretch out before a run, after 9 miles or so i get a real bad ache/pain in my left Trap muscle right by the shoulder blade, its sometimes quite painful.i run 70% off road so i put it down

and it stopped after a lay off for a different injury. It has started again. I changed off-road shoes to Mizuno Ascends and it seems to have happened since then. I exclusively run off-road (almost) on very variably terrain. The soreness is always worse first

trail shoes - Nike Pegasus Trail

I'm looking for a pair of trail shoes for off-road / mixed terrain 10Ks and Half Marathons. For road running I've always worn Nike Pegasus (currently on my 4th pair). Nike do a trail version of it, so that seems like the obvious choice.  Anyone used

Ferndown Rotary Charity Fun Run

I think this clashes with a 10km at Moors Valley just down the road. I want to do one of them. Any ideas how the courses compare. It will be my second race and I'm more excited about varied terrain than road racing.Thanks I think the Ferndown Rotary

Training on softer ground

race your legs need to be used to running on the road - you can run much faster but at the same time the impact is greater. Likewise for an off road race running on similar terrain will help. Woodland again can be very different - muddier and softer

For the road bits in my off-road runs/races

I train and race mainly off-road but sometimes I need to run on a road or 2 to get to the trail/grass/mud areas I like to run in.  Also, I was in a race last week (80/20% off-road/road split) in my Brooks Cascadias which I find great for off-road

And what's the difference?

get.Could somebody explain the difference between a cross country shoe, an off-road shoe, a trail shoe and a fell running shoe? The terrain on The Ridgeway is hilly and has some tracks from vehicles and footpaths.Thanks in advance. Oh you live near me
