Bare foot or trainers?
I'm about to toddle off on holiday and have the intention of kick starting my running again (knee permitting). So, is it best to run on sand with trainers? (Corrects pronation, support etc)or run in bare feet (no chance of getting sand in shoes

any hints?
I am running a half marathon in about 10 days and 5km of that is on sand, with a short stretch on very soft sand dunes. I have never run on sand before. Does anyone have any hints on how to run on sand? The sandy stretch is just after the half way

for a little trott along it! The thing is, I've never run on a beach before and I was hoping some of you have and could give me a few pointers. I've been told I need to run along the water line as running in the soft sand wouldn't do me much good
