I'm currently a long-middle distance road runner. However, I want to start doing ultramarathons and have found that most of the events take place on off-road trails; how differently do I need to train for these events? And are trail shoes completely

I run in a pair of Nike Structure Triax but obviously find that they dont have much grip off-road (especially when it has been as wet as it has been recently). I am trying to find an off-road shoe that will cope with 1-2 miles on the road
