Good to see this forest used for a running event at last, I do not usually like trail runs for their narrow and potholed paths with sometimes gates and stiles to negotiate.But I'm happy that the paths on this course are wide and as smooth as you can

You don't want shoes that "keep water out" when trail running, because water will get in and it needs to get out easily too. There are Goretex trail shoes available but I would avoid them personally as they will just keep the water in !Also worth
