IMDE warm-up events

My longest race to date is London Olympic.In the same way that you warm up to a marathon with a variety of "B" and "C" events over various disctances can anybody recommend warm-up events prior to IMDE, presumably I need to do a half at some point

I am doing the Leeds Abbey 10k , and so is Mr JARSI ran this morning at 8.30 am and felt terrible, I suspect in part cos I wasn't warmed up properly.( It was fairly cold)As Leeds is at 9.30 am, has anybody any warm up tips before...distance, pace
