Adidas Supernova Cushion £69.99
Weight 378g
Evaluation A refreshingly clean and reasonably priced antidote to earlier offerings, the Supernova Cushion is now Adidass top-end cushioning shoe. Like the stability
version of the Supernova, the Cushion places an emphasis on deep, plush
cushioning, with full-forefoot Adiprene Plus.
As its weight suggests, its more of a midweight- to big-guy shoe than any of the former Supernovas were (at 310g, the £65 Boston is now the best faster-paced neutral trainer from Adidas). A thick midsole, a big midfoot shank, a broad base of support and a heavily overlaid upper, make it a protective, relatively supportive option.
In short The Supernova Cushion is designed as a plush alternative to the Supernova for runners who dont need medial support. But because it has a broad base and decent midfoot control, the chances are that many mild overpronators will consider both variations. Its good for slightly heavier runners, though not the biggest shoe-crushers.
