Mizuno Wave Creation £90

Posted: 22 January 2004

This model may still be available on clearance. But we've reviewed a newer version since we published this.

Weight 352g
Evaluation Mizuno made life difficult for itself with the Wave Creation. By making it one of the most luxurious cushioning models on the market the firm has to be careful whenever it updates the Creation. Until now it's been subtle evolution, but version five sees some major changes.
The most obvious of these is the Wave itself. The Creation sees the first use of the all-new Skeleton Wave. Two separate Wave plates sit on top of each other, separated by soft pillars to offer more cushioning than before. Allied to this, Mizuno has moved the position of its VS-1 cushioning pads. Now they sit above the Wave, rather than below, in both the fore- and rear-foot.
The great news is that it all works: Mizuno has improved the Creation. The cushioning feels better - a little softer - than the previous models; its broad last means it's particularly stable for a cushioned shoe; and it has the responsiveness you expect of Mizuno.
In short A great all-round shoe. It should appeal to a huge range of runners. If you want cushioning, it has it. If you need stability, that's there too. And if you want performance, you won't be disappointed.
