Evaluation The Trail is another example of a trail shoe based on a road model. So, you get a more aggressive outsole and a tougher upper, plus a nicely cushioned midsole. There’s a second density in the forefoot, rather than the usual rear or midfoot, which could conceivably aid stability if you spend a lot of time on your toes, and provide a positive toe-off on softer ground. The Trail does flex a little too close to the midfoot, though, which may feel awkward on flatter ground.
In short A hybrid road/trail trainer – the outsole isn’t noticeably grippier than many road shoes. And we’re not 100 per cent convinced that the second density in the forefoot adds a great deal.
