Dublin has fast become a city known for it's party atmosphere, particularly around Temple Barr, but there's so much more, from the superb Georgian facades of the GPO Building, to Trinity College and Moore Street Market, Dublin is a city on a grand scale. And with that pub culture to boost your post race relaxation you will definitly get into the party mood.

The Race

The Dublin Marathon is always held on the last Monday of October, which is a Bank Holiday in Ireland. You are guaranteed enthusiastic crowds, which help make Dublin such an experience. A few refinements made to the course in the last few years, making it quicker, is clearly reflected by the new course record set last year of 2hrs 9mins. With 10,000 expected runners, the race is the right size to give you company without crowding your running space.

Hotel Mespil***

This new 3-star hotel is a very popular choice. The hotel is located a short walk across the canal from St. Stephens Green and is only 100m from Baggot Street which has plenty of shops and restaurants. All rooms have bathrooms en suite, colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a restaurant and pleasant bar. Full Irish breakfast is included.

PRICES

The basic 2-night stay can be either Sat/Sun or Sun/Mon. Prices inlcude one-way shuttle to the Breakfast Run and services of a Sports Travel Ireland Rep at the hotels.
