22 AUG 2009: REYKJAVIC MARATHON, ICELANDIceland is a magical country with spectacular landscapes and hot lakes and geysers that can be reached very easily from the capital Reykjavik or go riding on an ice field in a snow cat. Reykjavik is holding its 25th annual Marathon and although a fairly small city it is none-the-less a fascinating route passing residential areas of brightly coloured homes and lava rock gardens. Itinerary Fri 21 Aug: Depart from Heathrow on the Icelandic Air flight to Reykjavik departing at 1300 and arriving 1500. Transfer to your hotel. Sat 22 Aug: Race day. Sun 23 Aug: At leisure in Reykjavik. Mon 24 Aug: Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Heathrow departing at 0740 and arriving at 1145. We are staying at one of the best hotels in Reykjavik, the Hilton Nordica. The hotel is located about 15mins walk from the city centre. The modern hotel has some great views across rugged scenery and it is also close to the sea. All rooms have bathrooms en suite, hairdryer, air conditioning, colour TV, mini bar and wi fi. The hotel has a restaurant and bar. Buffet Breakfast included. PRICES
