Virgin Active ends sponsorship of London Triathlon

The London Triathlon, part of the IMG Challenger World portfolio of mass participation events, has announced its title sponsor contract with Virgin Active Health Clubs has come to a natural end, following three successful years of sponsorship.

IMG Challenger World Managing Director, James Robinson said: “We have very much enjoyed working with Virgin Active Health Clubs, an iconic British brand and health club who has engaged successfully with our 13,000 participants”.

“This is a time of development for triathlon in the UK and a fantastic time to become involved in the sport. It is also an exciting time for the event and we look forward to working with a new title sponsor for 2014 and beyond.”

Virgin Active Health Clubs’ CMO, Brian Waring said: “The London Triathlon is a fantastic event in London’s sporting calendar, and we have been very proud to be a part of it for the last three years. We are in discussions to continue as an associate sponsor of the world’s biggest triathlon next year, and we hope to welcome all those would-be and training triathletes into our clubs.”
