The Coloral Company

the rebirth of a British cycling icon...

by Ben Hobson

Now, I know this isn't particularly in line with the requirements of the modern day triathlete when it comes to a streamlined bidon, but for one small moment let's take a step back from the skinsuits and aero helmets and celebrate a piece of cycling history.

What I'm talking about is the Coloral Company and their iconic water bottle, a design classic that became synonymous with the Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali era of grand tour bike racing, as well as with legendary British cyclist Ken Joy and gruelling time trials back in England.

The good news is that a clever group of people called Tom, Bec, Darryl, Warren, Pip, Olly and Steve have had the great idea of trying to manufacture these bottles once again and have taken to kickstarter in an attempt to get their project off the ground and as it's Friday and the sun is shining, why not get misty eyed about the golden years of cycling and imagine drinking from a pretty bottle.
