Chrissie Wellington - You Ask the Questions

Don't miss your opportunity to help us interview the three-time Ironman World Champion - we're giving you the chance to ask the questions when we quiz Chrissie Wellington MBE in the pages of Triathlete's World

Posted: 5 July 2010

Chrissie Wellington stunned the triathlon world when she won the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii on her race debut in 2007. She had only turned pro six months earlier, in the same month as her 30th birthday. The 33-year-old has dominated long-distance triathlon ever since, adding two more World Championship titles and numerous other wins to her impressive CV.

Her career highlights include winning the Alpe D'Huez Long-Course Triathlon in 2007 and 2008, and her third World Championship title, when she smashed the 17-year-old course record and beat her nearest rival by more than 20 minutes.

Chrissie's dramatic story has inspired countless people to take up triathlon, so it's fitting that she was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours' List for her outstanding achievements in the world of triathlon.

Submit A Question

Now we're giving you the chance to pose your questions to Chrissie Wellington (if we can get her to stop training and sit down for a few minutes). Whether you want to know more about her world-beating training regime, unlock the secrets of her amazing race success or discover the proudest moment of her impressive career, just submit your questions before July 19.

>>> SUBMIT YOUR QUESTION HERE

Unfortunately, we won't have time to put all your questions to Ms Wellington, but we'll do our very best!

Your questions and Chrissie's answers will appear in the November/December issue of Triathlete's World.

Do you think it's a stupid idea to practise a bricking session as 40km cycle and 10km run? My approach to training is to get used to the hardest bits and then it's OK on the day. Am I wrong?

How important really is diet and the balance of carbs/protein/fat etc for optimum performance? Can I ask what a typical days worth of food and drink would look like for you when you are training.

Are there any foods you swear by?

who do you see as your greatest competition at the world champs?

what could be done to develop the sport so the prize money is a bit closer that earned by other top sports people?

yvette - you might want to say what length of race you're training for.
