Hopeless Admin - but I PB'd...... This was a weird one.

Cons:

1) Admin.... admin.... my kingdom for some admin.

My entry was lost (I wasn't the only one). But after I pushed a little they allowed me to run as I 'appeared on a list' somewhere. The admin lady just seemed more than a little absent.

2) Cost

Exactly what did my (I think it was £30) entry fee go on? 99p Gloves a mars bar, banana and a bottle of water.

Pros: Pace runners and a fast course.

They had a 1:30 pace runner which was just what I needed to PB.

I ran the Macc Half last year and it was much more enjoyable.

Fast course, well-organised but not much to look at! A definite potential PB race (I managed to demolish 17 minutes off my PB here!). Dull scenery, not much support and potentially horrific if you get the wrong weather. But the organisation is excellent, the course is almost pancake flat (aside from a couple of very small slopes, there were lots of water stations dotted around the course and the RW pacers were of definite benefit to me.

You have to be quite tough mentally to constantly push the pace on the flat, but if the weather is kind this is a very fast course indeed.

The medal was awful, but that's not why I race. The mars bar and the magic gloves in the goody bag, however, were much appreciated at the end!

Good PB potential, if the weather is right, but hard on the scenery Third time I've run this race and only missed a PB by 32 seconds. Difficult to gauge the weather on the sea front. Coldish head wind, but overheating on the turnaround towards the Tower. The scenery is dull, since the sea does not change and it is difficult to gauge the distance ahead. Its a course which builds mental toughness as you have to concentrate to maintain pace (just like the track). Switching off and you can lose 20 seconds on a mile. Overall a flat course, but the hills on the middle costal path can upset your rythem. Chip timing was great. Likely to do it again as it is a good race for a PB.

Well organised - PB - very pleased as first time sub 1:30. Very well organised - great that it was chip timed. Will definately be back next year - although not a completely flat course - no major hills and definately a good race to run if you are looking for a pb! One of many good races from Fylde Coast Running - would also recommend the Windmill 10k, (one of my favourite races) and Blackpool Beach run!

Fast and flat, but extremely dull. I chose do to this race as a warm up for the London Marathon, as they had the Runners World pacers.

Good points - Well organised, ran efficiently, water points organised well, registration quick and easy.

Improvement Points - really dull course, no atmostphere, hardly any marshals along the route, inflateable arch taken down so I couldnt see the finish line, tacky medals.

Although I beat my PB by over 16 minutes, I wouldnt do this race again.

Well organised and fast Excellent facilities in the venue and flawless organisation - a real improvement on the last FCR race I did. Number collection easy and efficient and staff/volunteers friendly and helpful (again unlike last time) - well done and thanks to all concerned.

Almost perfect conditions on the day, a breeze in your face as you headed north but more than made up for by the it being behind you on the way back down. I took 3 minutes off my PB and was agonisingly close to a sub 1:20, many others I spoke to PB'd also. Certainly a very flat and fast course (although in driving rain and a strong wind it might be different).

Yes the route is a bit boring on the second lap, but personally I quite liked running along the seafront. The marshalls were encouraging although sadly very few spectators on most of the course (not sure what race the reviewer below ran today! :-))

Nice goody bag, and showers and a massage back in the Hilton. Fantastic day, will be back hopefully for another PB next year!

Great race really well organised Fantastic race in good running conditions. Organisation was excellent with great race venue at the Hilton. Got race number within 30 seconds of arriving. Flat course with great PB potential. Best part of today was having the pacers. The 90 minute pacer helped me to a 4 minute PB and first time sub 1.30. Will definitely do again.

Very well organised, nice goody bag, flat but dull route. The Hilton made a great race HQ and it was all very well organised. Great having the pacers - the 1.58 pacer was very nice. Thank you! But the route was dull and doing two laps the same only made it duller. But thanks to all the organisers and marshalls who did a great job. It's not their fault that Blackpool is not the most beautiful place on the planet!
