Challenging yet scenic experience This was my first marathon .... I wanted a challenge and I got one :-)

It was a really friendly and personal race. I have entered the other Cotswold Running races because of the friendly atmosphere.

Had a great day and will be returning next year with some club mates What a great event from the start...HQ and car park well sign posted and no need for a map during the marathon as the markings were excellent and the marshal's well positioned.Food and water stations well organised with snacks, water and coke..last but not least a long sleeved technical top..brilliant !!

Excellent trail race - but hard work! The race is brutally hard - three massive hills and some technical, muddy and slippy terrain at times. But this doesn't detract from what was a beautiful and varied course. I actually enjoyed the 'undulations' - it removed some of the pressure of a road marathon and wanting to hit consistent splits. The marshalls were exceptionally friendly and the checkpoints had good food and drink options. It was, on the whole, well signed, although there were a couple of occasions of looking around for a sign. The white background tends to blend in on an overcast day - perhaps a pink background and white arrow would be more visible.

If you want to do a hassle free marathon in glorious surroundings then I couldn't recommend this enough. I feel proud to have finished what was a very hard race!

I only did the 1/2, the full is too far for me. I don't think that you could find a more scenic route anywhere, the views from the top of the hills across the vale are stunning. A few teething troubles with route markers but it is a trail race and I am sure they will be sorted for next year.

firstly the criticisms for this event.the markers for the route were at times difficult to follow and a couple of points there were no markers or marshalls showing runners where to go.this was very unfair on the front runners who had to stop and wait to ask other athlete's where to go! on an up,probably one of the nicest routes i have ever done.if the route can be made much clearer to follow i would definately come back next year to give it a crack.sadly i could not complete the full marathon and had to do the half as felt unwell so want to come back to complete the full 28 next year
