What better way to start the year, absolute killer of a run!

Always a great crowd, well organised, great post race goodies, definitely one of my favourite events.

A very challenging course but the fancy dress was great - perfect for New Year's Day! Organisation was excellent and it was a very friendly race. Definitely need to practice running in mud and up hills! Nice medal and long-sleeved T-shirt on completion.

Great way to start the year. Mud, hills, fancy dress, excellent medal and t-shirt and soup - what more could you want?

I forgot how hard this race is, but I hadn't forgotten how lovely it is, so the race was an interesting blend of pleasure and pain. Both of those feelings are still strongly with me today (2 days after). Highly recommended. Many thanks to the brilliant organiser and fantastic marshalls and supporters

Great race and very tough but in a perversely enjoyable way. So much fun seeing what people have dressed up as. Fanstastically organised as always from Dr Rob and his team. Wonderful marshals with lots of banter along the way - special mention to the very enthusiastic and colourful parrot marshal at the top of Juniper Top, dancing and jumping around with words of encouragement helping you all the way up the hill. And a cheese and pickle roll, carrot and cup of tomato soup to keep you smiling when you cross the finish line. No better way to start the year.

If your not slogging up a great big muddy hill then it's not new years day! Another fantastic running of the knacker cracker, fancy dress, rendition of the national anthem, great knacker cracker running tops, steps galore, a piper and a lady dressed as a cockerel at the top of a hill, great support from other runners, random children and walkers alike and hill's so steep and muddy that you can barely walk up them. Now that's what I call a day out!!!

This is a very special race not just for the fancy dress and the glorious scenery but for the ethos behind it of running for fun and due to the nature of the course you are constantly seeing other runners out on the course as we switch back on the various twists and turns. A great start to the year whetever the weather. It take a huge amoutn of time and effort for Dr Rob and his family and team of helpers and to you all I say thank you it is much appreciated and Happy New Year!

Another Classic Knacker Cracker! A fantastic race, with a fantastic atmosphere - thank you Dr Rob! I would recommend this race to anyone, beginner or elite - fancy dress, a piper, great marshals, great camaraderie and Hills, Hills, Hills! Dr Rob (and his whole family) put in a huge effort and it shows - the race is excellent! PLUS hot soup and a cheese and pickle roll at the end. Get in!

My 4th time at this race and it never gets any easier! Less a race, more a gathering of like-minded individuals. Such fun, will be back for more next year
