Great race but it was woefully short of marshals on what is a tricky route. I noted two who made grave errors because of this. Not what you want to be worrying about on such a tough course.

My second time. Still gratuitously difficult. Great atmosphere though and the marshals were awesome, with plentiful supplies of encouragement and life-giving jelly-babies.

Sixth time back for this one and it never fails - the hills are as brutal, the 1,100 or so steps just as tricky; but chuck in the hot weather and it makes for quite a challenge... Thanks again Rob for a great race, see you next year !!

Brutal this year in the heat but a great feeling to finish. A special run in glorious surroundings

Harder than ever, esp on a hot day. Great race, many thanks to Rob for making it happen

Sadly I was unable to run the race so for the first time volunteered to Marshall the event. I haven't had so much in my life, the runners were fantastic, the banter was amazing and the six hours passed so quickly. If you can't run your event for what ever reason, please please please help Marshall it, without volunteers these runs don't happen.

A very challenging hilly trail run which was made more difficult by the 29 C heat. But the camaraderie on the course from all the runners was second to none. Thanks to all the marshalls and to the organiser, Dr Rob, for a wonderful race!

Over the year there are A races and B races but some fall out of those and are just special like this one. The quips and goodhearted runners on this out and back make this great fun even though you are hurting in all sorts of places. Add to that the best marshals and stunning organisisation mean you are smiling while you hurt. Many thanks to Dr Rob, the Trionium team and alumni.

I don’t know how he did it, but Dr Rob managed to add an extra hill; this combined with the 28 degree heat made this a brutal race, living up to its “hardest in Britain” moniker.

As ever the there and back format and great marshalling led to a very friendly race.

This was my 5th go. I’m think that I’m getting too old for it. But then I’ve said that before...
